Of all the bad habits people try to vanquish, giving up sodas and other sugary drinks is one of the “toughies”…probably ranks up there with the desire to stop smoking. I am guilty myself of hitting up the vending machine on occasion for a quick pick me up or sugar craving, but I have also come up with a few practices to help cut these sugary culprits from your diet. I call these the “BeFOURs”…(1) Before you pop the top on a soda, you must drink 10 oz. of cold water. (2) Before you have sweet tea, you must eat an apple or any other piece of sweet fruit. (3) Before you order that sugary drink on the menu at a restaraunt, think about the $2.00 or more you’ll save if you order water with a squeeze of lemon. (4) Before you grab the sweet fruit drink, pop a piece of chewing gum in your mouth (sugar-free of course).
If you practice any of these “BeFOURs” you may find that your craving for sugary liquids has vanished, and you have more money in your pocket, and less weight on your body.
